Ely Gonzalez is a highly experienced lawyer with a proven track record of success in a variety of legal practice areas. He has the knowledge and experience needed to help clients navigate the complexities of the legal system.
After graduating law school, Ely joined Legal Services of Greater Miami where he litigated on behalf of hundreds of low-income Miami-Dade residents who faced barriers to equal access to justice. He later transitioned to the Office of the Florida Attorney General where he was assigned to the Civil Litigation Bureau.
As an Assistant Attorney General, Ely defended state agencies, officials, and employees in state and federal lawsuits involving allegations of negligence, personal injury, employment discrimination, and civil rights violations. His clients included law enforcement officials and state agencies like the Florida Department of Transportation, Florida Department of Health, and South Florida Regional Transportation Authority.
Following his tenure with the Office of the Florida Attorney General, Ely served as in-house counsel to the Miami-Dade Property Appraiser, Pedro J. Garcia. He was also recruited by the University of Miami and its healthcare system, UHealth, to analyze claims of workplace civil rights violations raised against faculty, physicians, and employees.
Ely is an optimist who sees opportunity in every difficulty. He is dedicated to his clients, his community, and the art of lawyering.
